With summer coming to a close and fall just around the corner, we’re savoring the best of both seasons with a “Patchwork Harvest” class that’ll combine summer’s remaining produce with a few fall flavors. Led by beloved locavores George and René Sackett, the culinary lineup includes chilled soup, Italian crepes and bread salad followed by homemade gelato and cookies. Guests sip on sangria while learning and lunching!

September 26, 2024 - Patchwork Harvest: A Mashup of Summer and Fall Fare

AT THE INNS AT ST. ALBANS

You’re invited to the International Choux Co. classroom for a mouthwatering mashup of late summer produce and a preview of fall flavors. George and René Sackett return to our kitchen to demonstrate a variety of dishes derived from local ingredients and influenced by summer’s remaining and fall’s burgeoning harvests. While sipping on a signature cocktail from your front-row seat, you’ll witness the culinary couple’s creativity and craft in the kitchen. Class includes a light lunch of gazpacho, panzanella salad and savory crepes, plus a sweet treat to finish.

About the chefs

. Culinary couple and passionate locavores, George and René Sackett enjoy creating menus and meals that feature a variety of locally produced and seasonal ingredients from farmers market vendors they have worked with over the last 15 seasons as market managers. René has over 30 years of experience as a hospitality and culinary professional teaching a variety of classes, catering, event planning and working as a personal chef. She is a former past president of the Missouri Farmers Market Association, a current member of Les Dames D’Escoffier St. Louis, and, along with George, a current member of Slow Food St. Louis and the Missouri Mycological Society. The Sacketts have fun in the kitchen, creating delicious and inspiring meals while sharing tips, tricks and news from the local St. Louis food scene.
