Culinary Camps
at The Inns at St. Albans

International Choux Co., the cooking school of The Inns at St. Albans, presents an exciting slate of culinary camps taught by award-winning cooks, bakers, food professionals and best-selling authors. These weekend-long events are intimate and immersive experiences centered around a theme and led by a visiting chef. Attendees enjoy cooking demonstrations, excursions, talks, tastings and dinners, plus a two-night stay on the property.

Our name pays homage to Oscar Johnson, co-founder of the International Shoe Company, and his wife Irene Johnson, the visionary who cultivated St. Albans’ beauty and tradition of hospitality throughout the early 20th century.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR – Vicki Ott

Vicki Ott is a Saint Louis native, graduate of the University of Missouri and now 50-year resident of Columbia, Missouri living with her husband, John. They raised two children and have two adorable grandchildren.

Early in their marriage, they renovated a 1914 school house in Rocheport, Missouri and created the ten room “Schoolhouse Bed and Breakfast.” For the next 14 years Vicki enriched her hospitality, culinary and design skills.

Vicki has been instrumental in working with her husband and son in their family historic preservation business of acquiring, restoring and repurposing historic properties in Columbia and Ely, Minnesota. Her work in preservation has cultivated a strong eye for detail and an appreciation for bringing new life to brings that may be considered old and forgotten.

Vicki’s passion for cooking, decorating and entertaining have been a constant in her life. She enjoys all types of creative pursuits from designing kitchens or baking for Christmas, to exploring vintage shops for inspiration. And she loves to share this joy with friends.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR – Sherrie Wehner

Sherrie believes life is a party, so you better pick a good theme. She loves bringing people together, serving great food and creating memorable experiences. Even throughout her career as a marketing executive, her creative meetings felt like parties while her team was getting the job done.

She and her husband Bruce had the honor of chairing The Silver Ball Gala for the Arthritis Foundation for several years, an event that combined elegance with purpose. Sherrie serves on the Entertainment Committee at Greenbriar Hills Country Club, where she plans a variety of golf and social events. As Aunt Sherrie, she is the go-to hostess for all kinds of family celebrations, whether it be holiday gatherings, showers, graduation parties, or even her legendary Scandal nights, where friends gathered for food and wine while choosing team Jake or team Fitz…if you know you know.

Whether it’s an intimate dinner or a large-scale fundraiser, she always brings a little something extra, making every guest feel special. When asked, she claims her greatest accomplishment as a hostess has been sharing her passion and expertise with her niece Sara, who has become quite the party hostess herself.

Sherrie and Bruce split their time between St. Louis, Missouri and Phoenix, Arizona. Both are avid golfers and creative cooks, and you don’t want to miss a party at the Wehner’s.
